(NewsDakota.com)–Rain halted play of day three of the state Class “B” American Legion baseball tournament in LaMoure Friday.

Washburn defeated Lisbon 6-2 in the opening game of the day, then a deluge rendered the field unplayable.

The format of the tournament will create a unique four-game schedule for Saturday.  LaMoure and Velva will start the day at noon, followed by the semifinals between Wahpeton and Grafton at 2:30 p.m.

The tournament does not allow two teams who have met previously to play again in the fourth round unless necessary.  With Washburn winning today, and Wahpeton having not met either LaMoure or Velva, the matchups for the third and fourth games will be Grafton versus Washburn and Wahpeton versus Velva or LaMoure.

The order of games three and four are dependent on the winner of game two.  If Grafton defeats Wahpeton, Wahpeton plays Velva or LaMoure immediately after.  If Wahpeton beats Grafton, Grafton plays Washburn immediately after.  The final game will then follow.

All four games will be heard on Sunny 98.3 FM and KDAK AM 1600.  KDDR AM 1220 will air games not in conflict with Oakes Babe Ruth baseball.
