VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Authorities say a Valley City man was injured in a house fire Friday afternoon shortly after 2:30pm at 289 11th avenue southeast in Valley City.

Valley City Police Sgt. David Swenson ran inside the burning home and pulled out a 46-year-old man before firefighters arrived on the scene.

The man was airlifted to a Fargo hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. No information on his condition was released. The fire started inside the kitchen area and the cause is under investigation.
