(Jamestown College Sports Information)- New Jamestown College head men’s basketball coach Justin Wieck has announced five new signings to the 2012 recruiting class. Wieck announced the signing of Dylan Hale, Mateusz Janiewski, Murray Hooper, Jordan Osberg and Omar Boumerzoug, all joining the Jimmie roster this fall.

Hale, a 6’1 transfer from North Dakota State, is a native of St. Paul, MN.  In his sophomore season at North Dakota State, Hale started 23 games while averaging 4.5 points and 2.1 assists per game.  Hale attended Division I Texas State University out of high school and played in all 31 games, averaging 5.4 points per game as a freshman.  Hale graduated in 2009 from Washburn High School in Minneapolis and was rated among the Top 25 high school players in Minnesota by Breakdown Magazine.  Hale helped lead Washburn to a Class 3A state championship his senior year and was named to the all-state tournament team.

Janiewski, a 6’5 transfer from North Country CC in New York, is a native of Mosty, Poland.  In his sophomore season at North County, Janiewski averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 42% from the 3pt line.  During his freshman year at North Country, Janiewski average 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. 

Hooper, a 6’4 newcomer, hails from Victoria, Australia.  Hooper will be an incoming freshman this season.  Hooper played at Rowville Sports Academy, starting every game and helping his team finish as runner-up in the state in his final season. 

Osberg, a 6’0 transfer from Riverland CC, is a native of St. Paul, MN.  In his sophomore season at Riverland CC, Osberg averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per game.  Osberg graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis and was a starter on the 2009 Class 3A state championship team, averaging 9 points per game. 

Boumerzoug, a 6’1 newcomer, hails from Phoenix, AZ.  Originally born in Canada, Boumerzoug averaged 20 points and 6 rebounds per game last season.  Boumerzoug will be an incoming freshman this season. 

“We’re excited to add such great quality to our 2012 recruiting class,” Wieck said.  “In a short time frame, we are ecstatic about this group of young men.  Along with the previous players signed, we’re excited about our upcoming season.  We look forward to them fitting in with our solid group of returning players & excelling on campus in the classroom.”

These five student-athletes join an already impressive list of incoming Jimmies.  They join Dyllan Anderson (Jamestown, ND), Dan Janu (Frazee, MN), Scott Lampton (Twin Valley, MN) Dimarco Mallett (Waterloo, IA), Andre Maund (Bismarck, ND), Mark Potter (Fargo, ND), Payton Rufsvold (Halstad, MN), Thomas Smith (Little Falls, MN), Breshion Tucker (Wayne State College, NE) and Nathan Willer (Jamestown, ND).  All will be enrolled in classes this fall at Jamestown College.
