(NewsDakota.com)- No conference means a lack of home games for the Jimmie volleyball in 2012, but they opened the intimate Hansen Center for another year with a 3-1 victory over Mayville St last night.

Jamestown College stormed out of the gates taking a 25-13 win in set one. The Comets didn’t go as quietly in the second, taking a six-point lead at one point before the Jimmies stormed back to take control. They would win the second set, 25-22.

Mayville St. was able to hold off elimination in the third set by taking out the Jimmies 25-20. The lost in the third set was just the second set loss in the last 16 games for JC. However, Jamestown came back with a vengeance to win the fourth and final set, 25-14.

Sarah Becker led the way with 17 kills.

The Jimmies are off until September 18th when the Dickinson State Blue Hawks come to the Hansen Center. Jamestown College is 9-2 on the season.
