Barnes County Airport Closed Due to F.A.A. Investigation; All Wings & Wheels Activities Cancelled Saturday & Sunday

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Barnes County Municipal Airport is closed until further notice and all trespassers will be prosecuted according to Dennis Helland, chairman of the Barnes County Airport Authority, he says all activities for today and Sunday have been canceled.

Sergeant Troy Hischer with the North Dakota Highway Patrol says 66-year-old Bob Odegaard died at the scene after his 1945 Super Corsair crashed at about 5:55 p.m Friday night. Odegaard was practicing his routine for the Wings & Wheels Airshow. All activities for today and Sunday have been canceled.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash and all trespassers will be prosecuted according to Dennis Helland of the Barnes County Airport Authority.
