(NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals Volleyball team is on a roll right now, winning three in a row.  September 8th they beat Jamestown JV, September 13th Drake-Anamoose and tonight they beat New Rockford/Sheyenne.  They improve to 9-1 on the year.  Their only loss so far is to Langdon on September 6th.

On September 13th, Carrington traveled to Drake, winning 3-1 (27-29, 25-17, 25-5, 25-15).  Brianna Barton had 5 aces in the second set.  Head Coach Sharon Boehmer said that good blocking and defense in the second set helped bring them back and win.  In set 3, Nicki Braaten had 5 aces.  Coach Boehmer said they adjusted to Drake-Anamoose’s hits, and came out strong in the 3rd set, Drake only scored five points.

Tonight, Carrington made the trip up north to New Rockford, coming out on top of the Rockets 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-10).  It was the first District match for the Cardinals.  Madison Wendell had five aces in the third set.  In the fourth set, Carrington had 16 straight points making it 24-8, New Rockford/Sheyenne scored two before Carrington put them away 25-10 in the fourth match winning the set and the game.

Next up for Carrington is the Valley City Tournament this Saturday.
