(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes and Northern Cass High School football teams find themselves currently in a three-way tie for first place in Region I play coming into Friday night’s meeting in Oakes.

By the end of the night, maybe only one team will still be unblemished in the region, depending on what occurs with Maple Valley/Enderlin. Needless to say, this is another big game for both squads, and they only become bigger as the season progresses.

Oakes is still ranked third in latest poll released earlier this week, and their head coach Greg Dobitz has a pretty good idea on how the victor of Friday’s contact will be determined.

As far as the Jaguars are concerned, they’ve played their best ball in recent weeks, including starting out regional play with an overtime victory over Milnor/North Sargent. Coach Dale Nordick says they’re looking to stay a competitive group not only in Friday night’s affair, but throughout this season.
