CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner cross-country teams hosted the Bill Jansen Blue-White Invitational Saturday at Bjornson Park Public Golf Course.

The Hi-Liner girls placed fourth as a team with 204 points, edging fellow Class “A” teams Grand Forks Red River, Jamestown, Wahpeton, and Devils Lake.  April Berntson led Valley City with a 13th place finish, running in 16:52.  Barbara Zubrod was 28th at 17:21.

Valley City’s boys ran a complete team, and finished 14th overall.  Casey Engelhard was 46th with a 19:31.

Grand Forks Central took the top girls honors with 53 points.  Jamestown was sixth, Griggs County Central 12th, Carrington 13th, Lisbon 15th, and Central Cass 19th.  Grand Forks Red River won the boys event with 51 points.  Jamestown was fifth, Central Cass sixth, Lisbon seventh, and Carrington 12th.

The Hi-Liners compete next in two weeks, running at Casselton on September 27th.
