(NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals were in action on Saturday, September 15th at the Community Bowl against AA opponent Bismarck St. Marys.  Carrington shut out the Saints 18-0 and improve to 2-1 (1-1 Region) on the season.  St. Marys drops to 2-2 (1-1 Region). 

Carrington drew first blood late in the second quarter.  With 2:34 remaining, Cole Hendrickson scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak making it 6-0, extra point was no good.  Then right before the end of the first half, Casey Murphy scored from two yards out, the 2 point conversion was no good making it 12-0 Carrington. 

Carrington came out of the gates strong at the start of the third quarter, Casey Murphy took it 50 yards for the touchdown with just a little over 30 seconds played in the third quarter, making it 18-0, extra point was no good.

The Cardinal defense had 6 interceptions on the night, Alex Nelson had 2 of them. 

Casey Murphy had over 200 yards rushing with two touchdowns for the Cardinals. 

Next up for the Cards is Homecoming against Turtle-Mountain this Friday, Sept. 21st, pregame on KDAK 1600 AM will be around 5:30p, kickoff 6p.
