CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Valley City State University volleyball broke a seven-match losing streak with three straight wins this past weekend in Valley City.

The Vikings swept Trinity Bible College, ND, and Briercrest College, SK, Friday afternoon and evening, then swept Bismarck State College, ND, Saturday.

Jill Noeske (Sr., Valley City, ND) led the Vikings with 12 kills against Trinity Bible College, with Aurissa Martens (Jr., Manitou, MB) and Kaitlyn Heuring (So., Winnipeg, MB) each adding nine.  Noeske and Martins each had nine kills to lead the Vikings in the win over Briercrest.

Martens then finished the weekend with 13 kills in the win over Bismarck State College Saturday.

The Vikings are now 4-12 overall, and will play in a tournament in Madison, SD, at Dakota State University this weekend.  They face Jamestown College and Dakota State Friday, and Ashford University and South Dakota Mines Saturday.
