(NewsDakota.com)- A losing streak can often be deceiving, especially when you look at the streak the Jamestown Blue Jay volleyball team is on right now. They have lost five in a row, but they’ve lost two five-set matches and three of the loses were to Top-10 teams in Minnesota.

The Jays finished 8th at the Southwest Minnesota Invitational 10 days ago. They ended with three straight loses. Their losses came to Minnetonka and Chaska, both ranked in the Top-10 in Class AAA (MN’s largest volleyball classification) and then to Marshall who is the top team in Class AA.

There five-set losses came to Bismarck Century and Dickinson, who Jamestown has struggled to beat the last couple years.

The Blue Jays are 10-5 heading into tonight’s match with Bismarck High. That match will be broadcast on KQDJ-AM 1400.

Head Coach Sara Hegerle joined the “AM Update” this morning to talk about her team’s upcoming match and a tough week on the schedule.
