CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) After weeks of number crunching the 2013 budget is close to final approval for the Valley City board of commissioners.

City Auditor Avis Richter says fewer mills were levied in this budget being the value of a mill increased.

Richter says some of the proposed budget increase, $42,800 goes toward permanent flood protection efforts.

The proposed 2013 budget is at $1,194,200 compared to last years $1,151,400 a difference of $42,800.
