(NewsDakota.com) – Walz Pharmacy in downtown Jamestown is changing ownership.

After 50 years working in the business and 18 years as owner, Larry Walz has decided to sell the store to the White Drug Pharmacy chain.

Walz Pharmacy is the last independent pharmacy in Jamestown. Walz, who grew up in Jamestown, says he truly appreciates the customer loyalty the people of Jamestown showed to his store. He says he’s not sure if he’ll miss the business, but does say he knows he’s ready to retire.

The store will close its doors as Walz Pharmacy on Friday, Sept. 28, and will re-open on Oct. 1 as White Drug Pharmacy. The store will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
