(NewsDakota.com) Farmers in Dickey County are now able to apply for Farm Service Agency Emergency Loans.

The loans are available to those who have suffered physical and production losses due to drought, heat, high winds, hail, frosts and freeze events that have occurred since the beginning of the year.

Farmers who have suffered a qualifying production loss of at least 30 percent from normal, and are unable to obtain credit elsewhere can apply for reduced interest loans that can cover up as much as 100 percent of losses. The loans currently hold a 2.25 percent interest rate.

The deadline to apply April 29, 2013, and famers who beleive they are eligible are asked to contact the FSA County Office at 211 South Main in LaMoure, or call 883-5268 and select option four.
