(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School football team was looking to improve upon the hiccups the last two weeks on their long trip to Steele to battle the Kidder County Friday night.

Dalton Magill was the cure, scoring rushing touchdowns four times all inside the five yard line as the Tornadoes held out for a 24-12 victory.

“Dalton was fantastic tonight.” said Oakes head coach Greg Dobitz. “We saw Kidder County play some different schemes on us, and along with our offense, we got another win and are one victory away from a playoff spot.

Homecoming week is next for Oakes, as they welcome Milnor-North Sargent Friday, Setember 28th. The game will also be the regular season home finale for Oakes. Coverage on KDDR 1220 AM/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 6:30 with kickoff from Cummings Field at 7 p.m.
