George Hubert Person, the son of Oscar T. and Lena (Tweit) Person, was born March 25, 1914 on the family homestead in Rosebud Township of Barnes County, North Dakota.  He was the eldest of seven children, three brothers and three sisters.  George lived and farmed in Rosebud Township until 2008.  In December, 1941 he married Hilda Meidinger in Aberdeen, SD.  The couple was united in marriage for 67 years until Hilda’s passing in January, 2008.  Shortly after Hilda’s death, George became a resident of Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.  George was an active member of the Farmers Union, National Farmers Organization, the Litchville School Board, First Lutheran Church Board and served as township clerk for many years.  One of his favorite stories was how during an election he had to count votes by candlelight.  He enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends, dancing and was especially fond of square dancing.  However, his favorite things were his variety of farm and non-farm animals and working in his shop repairing and manufacturing his own parts.  He had a knack for inventing devices to make jobs easier and more efficient.  He also enjoyed reading farm stories about older times and was very interested in antique farm machinery.
