(NewsDakota.com) A fire engulfed an old construction equipment shed just north and west of downtown Oakes on Friday afternoon.

The Oakes Fire Department, along with the Oakes Police and Ambulance responded to the scene along 4th Street North, a block north of Main Avenue a little after 1 p.m.

Fire crews used numerous hoses to put out the blaze, which did threaten a propane tank on the south end of the building No injuries were reported, the building was a total loss, and 4th Street North was closed as crews controlled the fire; which the cause remains under investigation.
