( The cause of a fire that destroyed an old construction equipment shed near downtown Oakes on Friday has been officially listed as undetermined.

Oakes Fire Chief Jerry Hollingsworth told Monday morning that investigative crews were on the scene on Saturday and were unable to determine what how the blaze started.

Crews responded to the report of the fire shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday at the shed located near the 100 block of 4th Street North. The street was closed for a couple hours due to massive plumes of smoke, as well as a small chance of one of two propane tanks next to the shed catching fire and exploding.  No injuries were reported.
