N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – If there was ever a question for Jamestown and Stutsman County residents about how local and state candidates stand on a particular issue, tonight is the night to find that out.

Candidates from eight different types of office who are vying for as many votes as possible during the Nov. 6 general election will take to two Jamestown venues this evening for both a meet-and-greet as well as a moderated discussion of the issues.

The first event, a meet-and-greet sponsored by the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce’s Local Regional Issues Committee, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Quality Inn & Suites in southwest Jamestown.

That will then be followed up by a moderated discussion of the issues beginning at 6 p.m. at Raugust Library in the heart of the Jamestown College campus. This is the sixth time this type of candidate forum has been put on by the Jamestown College Student Media Center in conjunction with Dakota Central Telecommunications.

Steve Listopad is an assistant professor at JC and serves as Student Media Director:

Candidates for Stutsman County Commission, District 12 Senate, District 12 House, N.D. Public Service Commission, N.D. Superintendent of Public Instruction, State Treasurer, Southeast Judicial District Judge and N.D. Governor will be present.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend either or both events.
