N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Runnings stores all over the Midwest joined to raise more than ,400 with an event called “Ladies Night.”

Thousands of customers flocked to 17 Runnings stores in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota, including the Carrington outlet.

Ken Hanson is the Carrington Runnings store manager, and it was the first year for the Carrington store participating in the third-year event.

A bag sale highlighted the evening, which invited customers to purchase a large pink shopping bag. Customers who purchased the bag then received a discount on whatever items fit inside the bag with a portion of those proceeds going to charity.

Money raised will be used for support, education and treatment of breast cancer in each store’s local area.

Travel Leaders, Wrangler, Eillien’s Candies, Caramel Cob, Nutrena and Dickies helped sponsor this year’s event.
