4 People Face a Total of 50 Felony Charges Stemming From Barnes Cty Burglaries

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Four people face burglary and theft of property charges stemming from a 2 month long investigation in Barnes County.

Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the group allegedly burglarized a number of farmsteads, homes and a Valley City business in August and September. He said about $8,500 worth of property has been recovered so far.

The Barnes County State’s Attorney’s office charges 32-year-old Broc Allen Buytaert of Rochester, Minnesota, he faces 18 felony counts, 37-year-old Steven Lee Hovland of Valley City faces 15 felony counts, 31-year-old Betsy Lee Runkle of Rochester, Minnesota faces 14 felony counts and 25-year-old April Robyn Kapaun of Valley City was charged with 3 felony counts stemming from this investigation.

The four also face possession of stolen property charges in the Moorhead and Rochester, Minnesota area.
