(NewsDakota.com) An act of theft and vandalism are under investigation at the Pillsbury elevator after copper electric cable cords were cut off a conveyor belt over the weekend.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the thieves more than likely were seeking the copper inside the cable to sell due to high copper prices on the market.

No damage estimate or theft value was released from the theft and vandalism at the Pillsbury elevator.
