(NewsDakota.com) A ,540 grant from the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP) was recently awarded to the Oakes Community Hospital. 

The Central For Rural Health administers SHIP, and SHIP is funded through a grant from the national Office of Rural Health. The grants go out to various hospitals throughout the country for everything from training of staff, to upgrades in equipment.

The grant awarded to OCH will go towards the purchase of hardware for emergency services.
