N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After being held scoreless in the first half, a 17-point second half effort from Jamestown Blue Jays leading scorer Kyra Dewald — including the go-ahead bucket late — paced the Jays to a 62-58 home victory over Bismarck Saturday.

Senior Miah Dabill proved instrumental as well, adding 12 points including a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line.

The Blue Jays improve to 5-3 in the WDA and 7-4 overall this season. The Demons fall to 7-2 in the WDA and 8-4 overall.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Jamestown boys fell 52-23 to the Demons and scored just 5 points in the entire second half. They registered only one made field goal and shot 3 for 8 from the free throw line.

The Blue Jays trailed 33-18 at half.

Lucas Keller was the leading scorer for the Blue Jays with 5 points.

The team’s 23-point output is the lowest for Jamestown this season, 13 points less than what was their previous low of 36 at St. Mary’s in early January.

The Blue Jays fall to 1-7 in the WDA and 2-9 overall. Bismarck improves to 6-3 in the WDA and 7-5 overall.
