N.D. (AP) – North Dakota has two new state champion trees.

State Forester Larry Kotchman says a weeping white birch owned by Anton Kautzman of Mandan has replaced the former champion owned by the Dybwad family of McHenry.

A white pine owned by Levi Nenow of Jamestown has replaced a tree owned by Carlee O’Dell of Fargo.

The Champion Tree Program in North Dakota is sponsored by the state Forest Service and the Dakotas Society of American Foresters.
