CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Senior Night proved to be a difficult one for the Valley City Hi-Liner boys basketball team, as they dropped a 102-55 game to Fargo Shanley on Tuesday night.

Shanley (14-1 EDC, 14-2 overall) had four double-figure scorers including 22 from the EDC’s second-leading scorer AJ Jacobson.

Valley City (2-12 EDC, 5-11 overall) was led by a 23 point outing from Chase Carpenter in the defeat.

The Hi-Liners hit to the road to finish their regular season with match-ups against Davies on Thursday, then Wahpeton and Fargo South next week.

The Shanley and Valley City girls also played Tuesday night, with their games in Fargo. In the varsity game, the No. 2-ranked Shanley girls won 65-38, improving to 15-1 overall and 14-1 in the EDC. The Hi-Liner girls drop to 10-7 overall and 5-10 in the EDC. They are now locked in a four-way tie for sixth in the EDC standings.
