(NewsDakota.com)  The Legion Baseball season started on Thursday, June 6th for the Carrington Legion Baseball team.  They played Lamoure followed by Ellendale the next day, both on the road.  The Ellendale game was originally scheduled in Carrington, but due to wet field conditions, the games were flip flopped, so Ellendale will travel up to Carrington on July 18th. 

LAMOURE 6  CARRINGTON 5

Going into the top of the seventh inning, Lamoure Post 19 was leading 5-3.  After three walks giving up by Lamoure, Patrick Freeman singled to center and drove in two runs tying the game at 5 apiece going into the bottom of the seventh inning.  Lamoure would score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.  Lamoure improved to 3-1, Carrington would drop to 0-1.

In the second game, Quinn Alo hit a home run for Lamoure and helped his team to a 7-2 victory over Carrington in a non-section contest.

CARRINGTON 13  ELLENDALE 0

Taylor Skytland had a triple, an RBI and went 2-for-4 as Carrington Post 25 beat Ellendale Post 30 last Friday.  Logan Clifton went the distance for Carrington, with eight strikeouts.  Brady Smith drove in two and was 2-for-4 at the plate.  Ellendale drops to 0-1, Carrington improves to 1-1.

Next up for Carrington Post 25 is tonight at 6pm (5:45pm pregame on KDAK and newsdakota.com) at Wishek in a Section 2 contest.  Then on Wednesday, Oakes Post 36 will be in Carrington at 4:30pm (4:15pm pregame on KDAK, KDDR and newsdakota.com).
