Margaret Evelyn was born to Hans and Margaret (Thomson) Larsen on July 2, 1916 at Wimbledon, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Wimbledon Public High School in May of 1934.

     On June 2, 1938, she married Clarence Rose. They enjoyed 27 years of marriage and raising two sons. Following Clarence’s death in October of 1965, Peggy moved to Valley City, ND and served as a dorm mother at Valley City State Teachers College.

     Her free time was spent traveling and visiting family. She was an avid walker and fisherman.

     Peggy died at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City on July 10, 2013. She is survived by her two sons, Donald (Diane) of Bismarck, ND and James of LaHabra, CA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Trent) Woolford, Susan (Michael) Lucy, and Jonathan Rose; and four great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dorothy and Betty; and her “adopted daughter”, Carole King Jefferson.

     In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Valley City Public Library or the Barnes County Senior Citizens Center.

     The funeral service for Margaret “Peggy” Rose, 97, Valley City, ND will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 15, 2013 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND.

     Visitation will be held at the church beginning an hour prior to the service on Monday.
