(NewsDakota.com)  Day four of the 2013 State Babe Ruth Baseball tourney in Carrington started with four teams and would end with two.  Here are the results:

Valley City 5  Rolette-Rolla 4

The first game earlier today featured Valley City against Rolette-Rolla.  Both teams lost their first game on Friday, and won two in row to get back.  Down 4-2 in the top of the 7th, Valley City would score three runs and pull ahead of Rolette-Rolla 5-4.  Nate Rodriguez of Valley City would come in and relieve Jordan Magnuson in the sixth inning and get the victory as Rodriquez would hold Rolette-Rolla scoreless in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Rolette-Rolla ends their season at 15-5.  Jordan Magnuson was 1-for-4 at the plate with an RBI for Valley.  Jalen Pfeifer took the loss, he had 11 strikeouts and allowed four hits.

Valley City 13  Kindred 6

The second game that lasted just over two and a half hours, despite a home run by Zach Cossette in the top of the fifth, Valley City would score six runs in the top of the seventh,to beat Kindred 13-6 in their second game of the day.  Jesse Johnson had an inside the park home run in the third for Valley City.  Kindred had five relief pitchers, four errors and allowed 11 hits to Valley.  Kindred ends their season at 19-14.

Valley city is 4-0 in elimination games so far in the state tourney

Today’s championship game will be at 1pm, Dakota Prairie will take on Valley City.  If Dakota Prairie loses, there will be a second championship game at 3:30pm.
