(NewsDakota.com)- The 2013 legion season for Post 14 came to a close Friday night in West Fargo, when Jamestown was beaten handily by Wahpeton 14-3. Post 20 pounded out 19 hits in the game en route to knocking out Jamestown.

Riley Schafer ended his Post 14 career on a hot streak. He went 9-for-9 at the plate and reached base all 14 times he batted during the state tournament.

Post 14 will miss two other big bats in their lineup next season, Jake Stilwell and Brady Anderson both hit over .400 on the year. Anderson’s .493 lead the team.

Brian Wenzel, who was the team’s No. 1 starter, has at least two years left playing for Jamestown during the legion season. He finished 5-5 on the season with an ERA of 4.54.

Jamestown went 1-2 in the state tournament for the second straight year.
