Today, I talked with Jay Wagner, the coordinator for The Beginning Experience in Jamestown. Jay came in and told me a little bit about the history of the program as well as the times they meet and what they were created for.
The Beginning Experience originally started in Dallas, Texas by Sister Josephine in 1973 and has since then expanded to different areas in the country. The Beginning Experience was created for separated, divorced and widowed people.
“There are no professionals involved with it. It’s just people who have all experienced the same thing.” said Jay. The Beginning Experience meets at the Trinity Lutheran Church basement every Thursday at 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. and is open to all denominations. There is a $20 dollar start fee. There are also programs for children as well.
