CITY (NewsDakota.com)  The Titans and the Falcons  traveled to Valley City State University last night to play each other on the turf at Shelly Ellig Field at Lokken Stadium on the college campus.  Despite an early touchdown from Griggs Barnes County, the Falcons would score three unanswered touchdowns of their own and go on to beat GBC 36-17.  The Titans fall to 0-2, MV-E improves to 2-0.

The Titans first score of the game came with just under seven minutes remaining.  After the Falcons fumbled a punt return and GBC recovered, GBC would drive 30 yards and score the first touchdown of the game.  Senior fullback Derek Eberle would take it in from three yards outs and the extra point conversion was good making it 7-0 Titans.  It would be all Maple Valley-Enderlin after that, as Sophomore  quarterback Caid Combs would connect with Daniel Lindgren for three touchdowns and Austin Dixson for one.

In the second half for GBC, Sophomore kicker Alberto Mendez made a 33-yard field goal attempt and quarter back Jayden Grover would pass it to Cody Horn for an 11 yard touchdown reception, that would be the only other scores for GBC.

Derek Eberle was the player of the game for Griggs Barnes County, he had six carries for 21 yards and one touchdown.

Daniel Lindgren was the player of the game for Maple Valley-Enderlin, he had three catches for 73 yards and three touchdowns.
