N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The decision for the update of the city’s water distribution system has been moved to the November 4th City Council meeting with no recommendation.

At the Jamestown Finance and Legal Committee Meeting held October 22nd, discussions of the city providing 620,000 gallons water to Great River Energy at Spiritwood for operation of the Dakota Spirit AgEnergy ethanol plant through Interstate Engineering were held. Jamestown Mayor Katie Anderson said that the contract had not yet been finalized with Great River Energy.

The project is estimated to be about $1.4 million with Great River Energy paying a portion and the city paying between $700,000 and $800,000 for improvements to the city’s entire water system.
