CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Representatives of BEK Communications gave a presentation to Valley City officials on December 2.

Earlier this year Network Manager Tom Steinolfson says the company received a grant to serve customers in southern Barnes County. He believes the demand to serve Valley City is also there.

Once a franchise agreement is reached with the city BEK will begin installing fiber optic line underground for broadband internet to include phone and television services to some 4,000 dwellings.

Steinolfson says the company will also televise High School sports and other community events throughout the year.

City Administrator David Schelkoph says the company’s $20 million dollar investment is exciting news for the city.
