N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A group called “Empower The Taxpayer” tried unsuccessfully to pass a measure to eliminate property taxes in the 2012 election has ramped up a new effort.

Charlene Nelson of Casselton, one of the leaders of last year’s Measure 2, says supporters hope to launch a new ballot initiative.

Nelson says the group is trying to raise $100,000 for the initiated measure. Nelson says about 29,000 signatures will be needed to get the measure on the 2014 ballot in North Dakota.
