TOTTEN (NewsDakota.com) The District 7 girls basketball tourney concluded yesterday at Fort Totten High School with two region 4 qualifying games and the championship. Here are the results:
Lakota/Edmore 49 Midkota/Kensal 23
Junior Fallyn Freije poured in 28 points and pulled down eight rebounds to help the Raiders advance to the Region 4 Tourney in Devils Lake next Monday. Saddie Harding led the Mustangs with 12 points. Midkota/Kensal ends their season at 7-15 overall, the Raiders improve to 15-6 overall.
Harvey/Wells County 51 Four Winds/Minnewaukan 44
The Hornets improve to 17-5 overall and move on to the Region 4 Tourney next week as they down the Lady Indians last night. Alecia Koropatnicki led Harvey/Wells County with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Dawn Black had 16 points for Four Winds/Minnewaukan. The Lady Indians end their season at 9-12 overall.
Carrington 46 New Rockford/Sheyenne 32
The Cardinals improve their winning streak to nine straight games as they improve to 18-4 overall this year and are the District 7 Champions after they beat the Rockets last night. Jacey Engelhorn had 14 points to lead the Cardinals. Lacey Grann also had 14 points to lead the Rockets. The Rockets drop to 12-10 overall.
