N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Petitions are being circulated in Foster County to ask for the county to increase the commission from three commissioners to five.

North Dakota State law states that it is illegal for any two commissioners to meet or contact each other privately by phone, e-mail or any other means of communicating. Allen V. Stock of the Foster County Independent posted his opinion on the situation.

“Simply divide the county by the major highways for four districts and add one member from the city of Carrington — you have a five-member board. Would that solve all the problems? Maybe not, but five voices instead of three would definitely assist in running the county in a different manner.”

The next Foster County Commissioners meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 18th at 8:30am at the Foster County Courthouse.
