CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Hi-Liners girls basketball season has come to an end but the awards continue to come for senior guard Dierra Diegel. Just weeks after being named to the All-EDC team, Now she has made her way on the list of Second Team All-State players.

The 5-10 senior helped the Hi-Liners make their first trip to the state tournament since 2005. With just over 19 points a night, Diegel led the Hi-Liners in scoring thorough out the regular season.  As good as she was on offense, her defensive was second to none. On average Diegel would pick the pockets of the Hi-Liners opposition just over four times a game. A stat that only teammate Clarissa Olson would challenge in the Eastern Dakota Conference.

Diegel and the Hi-Liners ended their season with an overall record of 15-9, and finished fourth in the EDC with a conference mark of 10-8.
