N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service in Bismarck has announced the scheduled training sessions with Skywarn, a severe weather service training guide.

These training sessions will allow you to obtain the knowledge to become a spotter with a local agency. While not necessarily a “Storm Chaser”, spotters stay close to home and gather information to distribute to a local organization, such as the National Weather Service. Spotters report on wind speed, hail size, rainfall and cloud formations. Taking the class doesn’t require an individual to become a weather spotter.

A training session has been planned in Jamestown on April 8th at the Stutsman County Law Enforcement Center in the lower level meeting room. The training sessions are free and open to the public with no registration required.
