N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown’s Forester has released information about the newly created “Partners in Planting” program.

According to Doug Wiles, the City Forester, people that participate in the program by planting trees on city boulevards will be offered reimbursement. The program will offer 50% reimbursement, not exceeding either $30 or $50 per tree for every tree planted on the boulevard. A maximum payment to a single property owner is $400. To qualify for the program, a free city permit must be obtained.

“I am excited to implement this program for the City of Jamestown” said Doug Wiles, City of Jamestown Forester. “I see a great need in this city to diversify our tree population, especially with the threat of the Emerald Ash Borer. I am also looking forward to meeting the citizens of Jamestown and discussing their tree needs and questions.”

Funding for this program has been provided by the Jamestown Community Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce’s City Beautification Committee, Interstate Engineering, Gate City Bank, Unison Bank, Bank/Tax Forward, Ottertail Power Company, Wells Fargo, Agri-Ccover, Inc., Country Gardens and Don’s Garden Center. and various business in the Jamestown Community.
