(NewsDakota.com)  After three postponed games due to inclement weather, the Cardinals finally started their 2014 High School Baseball season yesterday in Medina against fellow Region 3 team the Thunder of Medina/Pingree/Buchanan.  The Cardinals swept the Thunder, 13-0 and 12-0.  The second game was a makeup game from April 4th, the original start date for the Cardinals.  Carrington is 2-0, MPB is 0-3.

In the first game, Patrick Freeman of Carrington threw a no-hitter  with 11 strikeouts.  Freeman just missed a perfect game, he hit a couple of batters and allowed a couple of walks.  In the second game, Brady Smith was the winning pitcher and had an inside-the-park home run at the plate.  Brady Bickett of Carrington had a three-run triple in the fourth inning.
