CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City school board voted to renew the teaching contract of 4th grade teacher Tara Glandt following an executive session with her on April 15.

Superintendent Dean Koppelman says he’s not at liberty to disclose what transpired during the meeting that reversed the board’s decision to drop their motion to dismiss the Glandt’s teaching position.

Meanwhile, Koppelman says elementary art teacher Lindsey Yanish and her representative voted to exercise the option of a continuance for her non-renewal contract hearing.

A final contract hearing for Yanish will be held next week. Earlier this month the school board voted not to extend Yanish’s teaching position citing an uncertain financial picture that the school district is facing in upcoming 2014-2015 school year.

Under North Dakota Century code the public is not allowed to attend any hearings that are held in an executive session.
