(NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals traveled to Binford yesterday to take on fellow Region 3 team the Midkota Mustangs.  Carrington fell 6-5 in eight innings.  The Cards drop to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 3, the Mustangs improve to 3-2 overall and 3-0. 

Dakota Hoyt for Midkota went 2-for-3 at the plate with a 2-run homer and three RBI.  Patrick Freeman went the distance and was the losing pitcher throwing 120 pitches with eight strikeouts.  Tyler Gravseth was the winning pitcher for the Mustangs in relief of Riley Nelson.

Next up for Carrington will be today in New Rockford against the Blacksox of Sheyenne/New Rockford.  This game was originally scheduled in Carrington but was moved because the baseball field at Carrington City Park isn’t quite ready, field conditions are a little too wet from the snow melt still.  Pregame can be heard around 3:45p on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com.
