(NewsDakota.com)  After numerous games were either postponed or cancelled due to poor field conditions, the Cards were able to play three games at home over the weekend at Carrington City Park.  All three games were important Region 3 games, here are the results.   

Friday, May 2:  Midkota 8  Carrington 5

Dakota Hoyt went 3 for 3 at the plate to help the the Mustangs beat the Cards 8-5 for the second time this year.  Easton Paeper was the losing pitcher allowing eight runs, 12 hits and one hit batsman.  Brady Smith of Carrington was 3 for 4 at the plate including three RBI and his teams first home run of the year.  Patrick Freeman was 3 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI.   

Saturday, May 3:  Carrington 10  Sheyenne/New Rockford 3

Brady Smith threw seven strong innings and picked up the victory as the Cards beat the Blacksox for the first time this year and handed them their first region loss.  Brady Smith hit his second home run of the year, it was a three run homer, he was 3 for 3 at the plate including five RBI and a two-run double.  Patrick Freeman had a good game as well going 3 for 4 with an RBI double.  Ben McKay was the losing pitcher, the Blacksox are 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Region 3 so far this year.     

Saturday, May 3:   Carrington 11   Lakota/Edmore 1

The Cardinals beat the Raiders by 10-run rule in five innings and complete a double header sweep at Carrington City Park.  Braxton Hewitt was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and no walks.  Carrington as a whole, hit its third home run of the year as Patrick Freeman hit a three-run homer and went 2 for 3.  Alex Stusynski was 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored.  The Cards are 8-4 overall and 4-3 in Region 3.
