N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Motorists who get caught wearing a seat belt might get a ticket anyway, a ticket for a free cookie from Subway. The first coupons will hit the streets during the annual Click It Or Ticket seat belt enforcement crackdown May 19 through June 1.

Subway will also provide free value meals as part of an incentive promotion to reach teenage drivers in North Dakota through social media.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Iverson says “We appreciate Subway stepping up to support a positive message about seat belts and safe driving. He added, “The coupons let us reward those who are doing the right thing.”

The North Dakota Department of Transportation expects that distribution of the seat belt cookie coupons will continue through the summer. The next high intensity seat belt enforcement period is set for July. For more information go to www.codefortheroad.com
