D.C. (NewsDakota.com) North Dakota Congressman Kevin Cramer says “The facts we have learned about the mistreatment of our veterans are shocking and reprehensible. We now know wait times for veterans to see a doctor were manipulated at more than 60 percent of VA health facilities. While a leadership change is clearly needed at the VA, I believe the individuals who oversaw these failures should be fired instead of allowed to resign. While the interim Secretary begins his work, Congress needs to act immediately on behalf of our veterans. Last week the House passed bipartisan legislation to institute accountability for failure at the VA. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid should bring this bill for a vote to allow the new VA Secretary to fire or demote any senior managers who are responsible for this widespread malpractice.”
