ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota Tourism has announced that six North Dakota tourism entities have received grants from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.

The Tourism Expansion Grants were created in 2007 requiring sponsors to provide $1 for every $1 of grant money being requested. Funds are used to build, remodel or expand tourism and recreation attractions as well as historic sites. The attraction must also have the ability to attract a visitor 50 miles one-way and retain a visitor for at least three hours.

Recipients of the grants include:

– Crooked Lane Farm Folk School, Colfax, for their Event Barn Relocation and Restoration.

– Eastbay Campground, Devils Lake, for construction of a new marina.

– Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts, New Rockford, for theater enhancements in their Old Church Theater.

– Bowbells Hotel, Bowbells, for the addition of a North Dakota Wine Kitchen.

– gardendwellersFARM, Esmond, for a new visitor facility.

– Northeast North Dakota Heritage Foundation, Cavalier, for a Natural History Exhibit at the Pioneer Heritage Center.
