N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A power outage near the 200 block of Second Avenue Northwest has affected area businesses and homes.

Otter Tail Power announced that an arrestor, a piece of equipment used to protect against power surges, had failed. Crews worked through the night to restore power to the blocks that experienced outages after the arrestor failed around 8:00 PM last night.

The arrestor is located behind the Jamestown Fire Hall. The power remains out for the affected area as crews continue working.

The outage affected the Jamestown Sun as well, as they couldn’t print their Tuesday edition. They will send out two publications tomorrow to make up for the inconvenience.
