N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Utility Operations will be notifying residents today about two bacteria tests that have been failed by the city.

Jamestown residents using the municipal water are asked to start taking precautions, although boiling water is not required. The tests have been conducted by the North Dakota Health Department as part of a routine test at one of the testing locations in Jamestown.

The test showed the presence of coliform bacteria samples. Although not normally causation of serious illness, coliform bacteria is easy to culture.
